Description

Strong, timeless, and rich in history, the Commando sweater draws its inspiration from the knitwear worn by French Navy officers. Entirely knitted in 2x1 rib — also called "sock knit" — it offers remarkable elasticity and impeccable hold over the years. Made from 100% virgin wool in our Breton workshop, it embodies the artisanal savoir-faire recognized by the French state label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company).

The 2x1 rib knit gives this sweater exceptional stretch despite its fitted cut. The tone-on-tone navy fabric reinforcements on the shoulders and elbows enhance its robustness. A knit designed to last, withstand sea spray, and endure for decades.

Care instructions

Machine wash at 30°C on wool program. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat on a terry towel. Virgin wool improves with time if you follow these instructions.

Inspired by French Navy knitwear, the Commando sweater is made for men who seek an authentic, uncompromising garment. A sailor's sweater, not a lounge sweater.

Even the most durable knit can show signs of wear over time. At Baie des Caps we help you extend the life of your garments with our repair services:

  • Repairs: dropped stitches, holes, fitting of knitted elbow patches.

Local recycling: drop off or send us the sweater that has become too small or is no longer worn. We put it back into shape so that it finds a second life and delights another customer. In exchange, you receive a credit note to put towards something new.
