Our children's models are sized by age (from 1 year to 14-16 years depending on the model): go by your child's age, and take the size above if they are tall for their age — a sailor sweater is worn for several winters. The size guide on each product page gives the flat measurements.

If you get the size wrong, returns are free for 30 days from mainland France, prepaid label provided.

No: most of our children's sweaters, including the Briac, are knitted in a merino wool blend, chosen for its softness — it can be worn directly against the skin, even sensitive skin, and is easy to care for. Other styles come in cotton.

Easily: in the machine at 30 °C on the wool cycle, inside out, with a wool detergent, spin at 600 rpm maximum, dried flat. Between two washes, simply airing it for a few hours is often enough — wool is naturally antibacterial.

From birth for the baby beanies (3 and 6 months), and from 1-2 years for the sweaters and cardigans, up to 14-16 years. The Gwenn zip-up cardigan, easy to put on without help, is perfect for school.

That is what it is made for: our children's sweaters are knitted to the same standards as the adult models — dense knit, reinforced finishing — and come with a lifetime anti-pilling guarantee and are repairable for life in our workshop. Many are handed down from one child to the next in the same family — and parents have theirs too: men's sailor sweaters and women's sailor sweaters.

Entirely in France, in our workshop in Beaussais-sur-Mer, Brittany, where six artisans have carried out every step since 1986. The company holds the Living Heritage Company (EPV) label — and you are free to visit the workshop, a lovely outing with the children.
