Mon pull à la carte
1986In 1986, in the small Breton town of Ploubalay, Dominique and Isabelle Josselin founded their artisanal workshop specializing in the manufacture of sailor sweaters. They started their company focusing on producing clothing that meets the needs of sailors and sea enthusiasts. |
1994It was then the smallest workshop of its kind in Brittany, which saw the birth of the Baie des Caps brand in 1994. The couple instills a special state of mind in the Baie des Caps sailor's sweater, from its manufacture to its sale. With their employees, they passionately revive the tradition of the sailor's sweater in a region marked by culture and love of the sea, the Baie des Caps (today called Côte d'Emeraude), between Cancale and Cap Fréhel. |
2016In 2016, the Baie des Caps brand created hats for the film "The Odyssey", which traces the life of the famous Commander Cousteau. This collaboration strengthened the brand's presence in the field of maritime textiles, as well as in film culture. The beanies created by Baie des Caps for the film were designed with the same attention to detail and quality as the brand's other products. They were made with premium materials to provide optimal comfort, while remaining faithful to the film's marine aesthetic. This collaboration allowed Baie des Caps to become known to a wider audience, particularly among lovers of maritime films and stories. It also demonstrated the brand's commitment to creating quality products that reflect the passion for the sea and sailing, a value dear to the brand since its founding. |

2019In 2019, another couple joined them in the adventure, Lucie and Geoffroy de Pinieux, attracted by these woolen threads where art and passion, tradition and modernity are intertwined, all in a family spirit. Today, the workshop continues to knit many products, to the great satisfaction of customers who appreciate the quality of Baie des Caps sailor sweaters. |
2019In 2019, Geoffroy and Lucie de Pinieux took a new step by launching their e-commerce site "Baie des Caps", allowing their artisanal workshop to reach a wider audience and go beyond the borders of Brittany. Thanks to this online platform, customers from all over France can now discover and order their unique and high-quality sailor sweaters, while supporting traditional artisanal know-how. |
2021The first elbow patch sweater from the Baie des Caps brand was created in 2021. It is possible that the brand will decide to remake it in the future depending on demand and fashion trends. |
2022Also in 2022, Baie des Caps multiplies its physical points of sale and extends its presence on different online marketplaces. This expansion allows the brand to reach a wider audience and further promote its artisanal know-how and quality sailor sweaters. |
2022In 2022, Baie des Caps is partnering with sailor Morgane Ursault Poupon for the prestigious Route du Rhum, a solo transatlantic race that takes place every four years between Saint-Malo, Brittany, and Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. This partnership is an opportunity for the workshop to promote their authentic sailor sweaters to an audience passionate about sailing and water sports. Morgane Ursault Poupon, proud to represent a brand that embodies the values of Breton craftsmanship and tradition, wears her sailor sweater during her public and media appearances. This support strengthens the reputation of Baie des Caps and confirms its commitment to preserving French maritime heritage. |
2022In 2022, Baie des Caps obtained the "France Terre Textile" label, thus rewarding the meticulous work and the quality of the products produced by the workshop. This label is a real recognition for this 100% French workshop, guaranteeing that more than 75% of the manufacturing process is carried out in France, while ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards. This distinction confirms the seriousness and know-how of the Baie des Caps brand, thus reinforcing its reputation and attractiveness. The "France Terre Textile" label allows the workshop to stand out on the textile market and attract new customers looking for authentic and quality products, made with respect for traditions and the environment. |
