Stain-removing soap with coffee grounds and ox gall

Say goodbye to stains, even stubborn ones. This soap combines two natural stain removers: ox bile, which disperses grease and dissolves dyes, and coffee grounds, a gentle abrasive that grips the stain and absorbs odours. Highly effective on soil, grass and red fruit. 90 g bar.

Made in Brittany, by the Ma Kibell soap works

This soap comes from Ma Kibell, a Breton soap workshop near Trémuson in the Côtes-d’Armor, where all their soaps are made.

The coffee grounds are not bought: they are collected from partner Breton bars that would otherwise throw them away. Like our slippers made from rejected knitted panels, this soap begins with something that was about to be lost.

How to use it on a wool sweater

The method matters as much as the soap. Two rules before you start: never a brush, never a sponge.

1. Put a little lukewarm water on the stain and on the soap.
2. Rub the soap on the stain until the black of the coffee grounds covers it completely.
3. Add more water, then rub knit against knit: take two thicknesses of the same part of the sweater — a sleeve, a panel — and rub them vigorously against each other.
4. Keep going until everything turns white and lathers a little.
5. Rinse.

Stain still there? Start again. After two or three passes with the soap, it is gone in the vast majority of cases.

If rings remain after a thorough rinse, the simplest thing is to machine wash the garment.
